I wanted to share the final poster for Kaizen by Diandra poster. I had the pleasure to photograph Diandra Asbaty's line, Kaizen, a fashion forward bowling line which was designed by Kristin Hasan of OrganiK Revolution. Mourning photos

I have been out of town for a week to attend the funeral of a great man, Mr. Warren Harding Yunker. This man was like an angel on earth, and it was very hard to say goodbye to him. The morning of the wake I had the opportunity to photograph Lake Mary in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin.

The next morning I was able to photograph at the same lake, around the same time. The day of Warren's funeral I found a slightly different scene than I had the day prior. I couldn't help but think both photographs were poetic documents of what would be emotionally difficult days. I wanted to share.

We were driving to Ann Arbor, Michigan just over a week ago to photograph the wedding of Lindsay Pudavick and Jason Glasser (see Glasser Wedding for photos) when we passed a sweet little schoolhouse. I was driving and Gina was my wingman. We both decided on our way home we would pull over and go exploring. This is what I shot.

My friend Jacklyn is an amazing hair stylist, and has the great opportunity of competing in a hair show in Venice Italy this fall. She asked me to take some beauty shots... but not just of anyone, my roommate Ursula. Who I must say, looks stunning and I now know that she can get away with any hair cut.

Check this out- amazing. Honestly, I now see how hair stylists see cutting hair as an art.

It's cold outside, it's dark and I'm so sick of winter. Good thing March is here, which gives us a little bit of hope for warm days to come. One day last week, I was just tired of doing work at home- and needed to lift my sprits with some picture taking. So I went to the studio with one of my studio mates, and used her as my subject. Sometimes I forget that your closest friends sometimes make the best subjects. I haven't shot portraits in awhile, and I instantly realized why I love taking pictures of people so much...

Documenting the interior of a venue is an important part of our job as a photographer. If captured correctly the results can turn out quite stunning (click on photo to enlarge). Recently we photographed a wedding in Chicago and the ceremony took place in a beautiful church. The image to the left was capture using the available light streaming through the stained-glass windows. Any guest can achieve a similar effect by turing off their automatic flash setting on their point-and-shoot camera. Even in dark settings the camera can automatically adjust, the image will have more even tones overall because the flash is not flooding the foreground (most of the time). A side-lighting effect creates a dramatic look, and can really showcase details at an event. Think flowers, food, decorations, etc. Look at the image to the left. The texture on the cake and the multiple tiers stand out much more with the use of a strobe held to the side.

Meet Byron Flitsch

Urban Tale turned American Dream

There once were two art students that lived in Chicago. Eventually the two photography students became good friends, and started collaborating on photo shoots. The rest is history............in the making.
